Teaching activity : courses and seminars in theoretical physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and the Faculty of Physics, University of Bucharest (1984-1986, 1996-2000).

Fields of study : theoretical physics – quantum dissipation and applications in atomic and nuclear physics and quantum optics; open quantum systems; dissipative tunneling in open quantum systems; quantum deformation in open systems; quantum decoherence and the transition from quantum physics to classical physics; quantum entanglement; quantum information theory.

Publications : author of about 80 scientific papers, of which 30 are ISI publications (reviewed in Mathematical Reviews (27), Zentralblatt für Mathematik (13), Spiers database – hep-th (6)). The published scientific papers have imposed and consolidated new distinct research directions in IFIN-HH: the study of dissipative quantum phenomena in the theory of open systems based on quantum dynamic semigroups; applying the theory of open quantum systems in the study of quantum decoherence and the transition from quantum to classical behavior; the study of the dynamics of quantum entanglement (quantum correlations) in open quantum systems and its role in the processing and transmission of quantum information.
