In 2014, two issues of the magazine were published “Annals. Series on History and Archeology ” . The aim was to attract a larger number of specialists, from the country and abroad, to ensure a modern scientific structure – with a main and a secondary theme, to publish notes and reviews on recently published works. Wanting the magazine to enter the world historiographic circuit, all studies have been published in languages of international circulation (especially in English).

The first issue, coordinated by Corneliu Mihail Lungu and George G. Potra, had as its main theme Constantin Brâncoveanu – 300 , a column supported by studies signed by Constantin Bǎlǎceanu Stolnici and Radu Ştefan Vergatti. In the second part, Miscelaneea , Corneliu Mihail Lungu, Constanţiu Dinulescu, Jaques Tobie and George Damean signed. The third part was reserved for the publication of the Activity Report of the Section, as well as of its members in 2013. The last part included seven reviews and notes .

Issue 2 of the magazine, also coordinated by Corneliu Mihail Lungu and George G. Potra, addressed a complex topic: Economic, diplomatic, and political interference . Eric Anceau (France), Murat Tuğluca (Turkey), Ambassador Paraschiva Bǎdescu, as well as researchers Marusia Cîrstea, Viorel Cruceanu, Madălina Virginia Antonescu, Ioan C. Popa and Luiza Popa contributed to its realization. In the second part, Miscelaneea , signed by George Cristea (Sweden), Roxana Gheorghe and Doina Mǎdǎlina Mǎxinean. Three reviews and notes were published in the third section.

We note that in 2014 volume III of “ History Studies ” appeared in Brăila, coordinated by Constantin Buşe and Ionel Cândea, with a wide participation and a wide thematic.

Regarding the members of the Department of Historical Sciences and Archeology, we mention that our proposals were analyzed by the Scientific Council and by the General Assembly. On May 9, 2014, the General Assembly decided that Mr. George G. Potra be promoted from a corresponding member to a full member of AOSR. On the same day, the Scientific Council of AOSR decided to elect as associate members the university professors Nicolae Bocşan, Mihai Retegan and Petre Ţurlea. University professors Anatol Petrencu (Republic of Moldova) and Özdemir Bülent (Turkey) were also elected honorary members of AOSR.

On June 3, 2014, our department suffered a new loss (after those of professors Iuliu Paul, Florin Constantiniu and Gheorghe Buzatu), due to the death of Vasile Boroneanţ, renowned archaeologist and museographer, former president of the History and Archeology Section of the Association of Scientists from Romania.

Tuesday, April 15, 2014, from 11.00, the Department of Historical Sciences and Archeology organizes at the AOSR headquarters the symposium “Declaration of April 1964 – historical meanings”. Special guest Mr. Larry Watts, Honorary Member of AOSR. Free entry
