The Academy of Romanian Scientists<\/strong> and the Embassy of Albania in Bucharest<\/strong> have signed a Protocol of scientific and cultural collaboration. <\/strong>The Protocol was signed by Prof. Prof. dr. dr. eng.<\/strong> Mrs . Doina Banciu, President of the Romanian Academy of Scientists<\/strong>, and E. H. Mrs. Enkeleda M\u00ebrkuri,<\/strong> <\/a>Ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Romania<\/strong>. The ceremony took place on Friday, December 13, at 11.00 a.m., at the headquarters of the Romanian Academy of Scientists, Ilfov Street, no. 3, sector 5, Bucharest, in the presence of the AOSR management and the Scientific Council. <\/p>\n\n

H.E. Mrs. Enkeleda M\u00ebrkuri <\/strong>said that the Protocol constitutes a platform for collaboration in the fields of university education and research, the framework for bilateral cooperation, which can be extended to the regional level, including the Balkan countries. A model could be the Visegr\u00e1d Group (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Poland), where cultural, academic and educational exchanges take place. Mrs. Ambassador referred to the complex historical links between Albania and Romania, underlining that the process of Albania’s conquest of Independence started in Bucharest. It is a privilege for Her Excellency to represent Albania in Bucharest as Ambassador. <\/p>\n\n

Mrs. Prof. Univ. dr. dr. eng. Doina Banciu <\/strong>said that the Protocol represents an institutional framework for a complex collaboration in the fields of academic education, research, science, culture and knowledge and also for the realization of projects. Albania is in the process of joining the European Union and Albania’s European path can also be supported through this Protocol. In conclusion, the Protocol will benefit both parties in fundamental areas. Mr. Prof. Univ. dr. dr. eng. Adrian Badea,<\/strong> Honorary President of the Romanian Academy of Scientists, <\/strong>referred to the historical relations between Romania and Albania, to the fact that the music of the Albanian Anthem was composed by Ciprian Porumbescu and stated that the Protocol is a protocol of cooperation and, at the same time, of friendship. <\/p>\n\n
