The Copernican principle<\/strong> is a principle that has made its place in the philosophy of science based on the presumption that in nature there are no privileged or special observers for a phenomenon studied. The principle has its origin in the fact that, as Copernicus pointed out, the Earth is by no means a special place, located in the center of the Solar System and around which the Sun would orbit. Moreover, it is only one of the planets orbiting the Sun, and this in turn is only halfway to the center of the Milky Way galaxy, which in turn is just a galaxy in a cloud of galaxies. . Therefore, the Earth is a planet of a multitude of potential planets that may exist in the universe. Moreover, our Universe itself seems to be a member of a multiverse. The planet does not occupy a privileged place in the Universe, being therefore an ordinary one, a rather mediocre planet, rather than a really special one, reason for which the principle is also known as the principle of mediocrity.<\/span>. …more<\/a><\/p>\n
